Having been born and raised in East London, education, through my latter junior years & comprehensive school, was undertaken in the somewhat more rural setting of Wootton Bassett (later to become ‘Royal’ Wootton Bassett), Wiltshire, after a family move in the late 70’s. After following a path of starting work straight after school (at 16 in those days), marriage & a daughter followed prior to any real glance at a camera and discovering the magic it can bring……when it was discovered, everything changed and a whole new world of opportunity and passion opened up, the natural world is something to behold and gives me so much pleasure and sense of wellbeing.

Photography is my hobby, I work in a demanding environment which I love but it is sometimes all consuming……the downtime I enjoy is spent out in nature, with my trusty Canon 5DIV, various lenses, a way too heavy camera bag and somewhat of a beast of a tripod! A move to Eryri (Snowdonia as it’s more commonly known) in 2021 has put mountains, the coast, Atlantic rainforest and more beauty than I could ever have imagined on my doorstep and I intend to make the most of it through the images I capture, be that a traditional landscape or represented in an ‘impressionist’ form, a genre of photography I’m very much a fan of. Whilst Eryri is home, I am, very happy to travel to capture images whilst either on holiday, away with work or on a dedicated photography trip, the world is a big place with lots to see & capture on the sensor.

Always striving to be better, always wanting to learn and discover, my photography allows me to do that and gets me out into our most wonderful world.

Please feel free to follow me on my various travels through the imagery I share on this website, I will upload images as and when I capture scenes and artistic interpretations I manage to capture worthy of that elusive ‘Portfolio’ piece or maybe an image I’d just like to share. Of course, more frequently, I’ll be engaging through my social media channels, links are above if you’d like to take a look.

Cheers

Lawrence
